Her words were “unheard, unseen, unimaginable, and ridiculous.” I sat in the audience, eyes pierced on this woman I’d never seen or heard of before. She had my attention from the moment she opened her mouth. This woman had a presence that demanded your attention. I loved that her words were intentional. They evoked emotion without any overzealous effort because she was simply speaking truth. Her words were prophetic and they captivated me for almost 40 minutes. Everything she said was powerful, but those words “unheard, unseen, unimaginable, and ridiculous” made my heart beat a little faster. Those words reflected what God planned to do in our lives if we do not remove our heart from Him. I can’t even begin to explain the feeling sitting among my sisters, Jocelyn (aka Indigo) and Monisha, listening to this woman literally speak life into our lives. It was almost unbelievable until I put myself in remembrance of what God had spoken through my Pastor early this year. He called this year, the year that we take our lives to new dimensions. Gone are the days of reaching new levels… we are rising to heights never seen before and it’s solely a result of our obedience to Him.
When she spoke those prophetic words I had a vision of the Oprah show where she revealed that she would send her entire audience to Australia. I remembered how the people shouted, cried, and jumped up and down. They had so much gratitude and excitement in their eyes. It was an amazing thing to watch and I found myself comparing it to what I was experiencing at that moment among 2,000 women. You see, the people in Oprah’s audience that day were her “super fans.” (I just learned this a few days ago) It was because of their loyalty to her over the years that they were chosen out of millions of her followers to attend this particular taping. Not one of the audience members had a clue what was in store for them when they walked through those doors and took their seat. I’m sure the majority of them were simply excited to be in Oprah’s presence and looking forward to a good show.
Well let me venture to say that we were God’s “super fans” that night. I believe that even though the conference was open to the public at large, the women in attendance were chosen to be in the building that night. Not because we are more special than other women in the body of Christ but because it was our season. It was a Word designed for us to hear at that moment. I know that I was there because I would finally be able to not just hear the Word but receive it. There is a difference! This time last year I wouldn’t have been able to say that.
I’m currently believing God for some things that simply don’t make sense in the natural. My bank account doesn’t support this vision. My job doesn’t support this vision. My natural abilities don’t even support this vision BUT the Word of God does and that’s all that I’m standing on. It’s a daily mind battle for me to not become discouraged by circumstances. In the natural, there’s not much about my life that can be considered joyous. I’ve designated this season to be one where I prepare myself for the next dimension. If I can smile, praise, and be glad in this season… there’s no doubt that I’ll give honor in the next one that is sure to be so much better!
I was just like those that were in Oprah’s audience… completely unaware of what was in store for me. I was just excited to have the opportunity to worship with my fellow B&F sisters. I never visited the church nor did I know the speaker so they were no motivation for me to attend a Friday evening service. I was simply invited by a fellow B&F sister and took her up on the offer. Little did I know that my life would be impacted the way it was. I received life changing words that I will carry with me on my journey to see this vision come to pass.
The promises that were spoken far outweighed a trip to Australia! Experiencing the presence of God in that place far outweighed the presence of Oprah (though I’m a HUGE fan of hers!) … Most importantly the joy, the excitement, and the renewed spirits of the women definitely put Oprah’s Australian surprise to shame. So let me encourage you to take advantage of opportunities to gather and hear the Word. It’s good to attend conferences, meetings, and services outside of your normal Sunday service. You just never know when a Word will be spoken that will forever impact your life, so don’t miss out on your season!
Isa 29:13+14 reads:
Be Bold,
Be Fabulous,
Be You,
I am still reveling in the beauty of that night. I agree w/ u 100%. Dr. Showell truly spoke what I feel to be a prophetic word over the lives of possibly EVERY WOMAN in that crowd, but definitely over us. As she said, we are doing more than DISCOVERING our purpose, we are RECOVERING what was already predestined.
Thank you for your post today sis. Touched me deeply.
Sis, I again was notified that this was a MUST read…I have. CHILLS right now!!! I know Bold and Fab were meant to be there!!! Though only 3 WE represent EACH OTHER…I praise God in advance for ALLOWING me the OPPORTUNITY to recover ME;) in a BOLD and FAB way!!! Thank you my sister…THANK YOU b/c God is TRULY using YOU!!!
I woke up the next morning feeling like a different person. Like, really, you don’t know what amazing things will result once God decides He wants to do something in your life. I daydream about different ventures and being in a different (more prosperous) place and it seems like a stretch to me, or I feel like I don’t even have time to pursue some of those things. But we (I) need to stop putting limitations on what God can do in our (my) lives (life) lol!
I as a Man knowing what God is worthy of all the time, I have seen my wife come from these conferences with a glow on her face that was unexplanable to me, I was not there to see what took place at the church, but I do know that what ever you Woman of the BOLD AND FABULOUS encounter at this conference, it is the favor of God who has placed you woman in that place to be blessed with that word that can change the way you think about certain things in life, that have never been revealed to you, so when your season comes to you, be ready to make a decision that could change your life forever, it will be something that Opra can never give us.
