Love & Peace In Spite Of…

In life, we are challenged to co-exist with all different types of people with varying personalities, inhabitations, and belief systems. The battle I face, as do many “practicing” Christians, is loving them in spite of. One of my biggest challenges is accepting that God is pushing me to the forefront to share my life and my heart with others. Have you ever tried to rebuke something that you know was of God?? I know it’s silly when you know that God’s Word is exactly what you want to hear, but I have to say that the natural part of me can be so stubborn. If I did not have the revelation that I have of God’s love, I would be content in my ways. However, having awesome examples of leadership in the Body of Christ and my own desire to please God, I’m confident that my discomfort now will pass and I will be praising God for not giving up on me when I was being difficult.

It’s important to know that with all of God’s blessings comes persecution. When you are living your life out loud and standing as an example for believers and non-believers, the pressure can be immense. You open yourself up to rumors, lies, and foul talk that can make you want to lash out in self defense. As I type this, I hear God’s voice… “With me, you never need self-defense. I am your protection and I will handle those that persecute you in due season.” … Peace. That’s what I feel… simple peace.

I’m not perfect, I’ve made poor choices, but I have heart to please God which keeps me pressing forward to live a life that honors Him. I love Him, I serve Him, and because I boldly live my life out loud, I’m determined to show love for His people despite it all. I must constantly remind myself that in order to love and honor God, I must love and honor His people. So in the face of all adversity, hear-say, and negativity that tries to take up residence in my life, I will not fail in my purpose, I will not let my mistakes control my destiny, and I will always love and honor my God.

Psalm 146

 Don’t put your life in the hands of experts
who know nothing of life, of salvation life.
Mere humans don’t have what it takes;

Instead, get help from the God of Jacob,
put your hope in God and know real blessing!

God’s in charge—always.
