Isaiah 41:10-11 Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.(A)
11Behold, all they who are enraged and inflamed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; they who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish.”
This past Sunday my pastor was instructed by God to share this scripture so that when adversity or trouble hits we could pull on it and rest in the understanding of it. He asked us to meditate on it. Print it out, post it, do whatever we needed to do to get it in our spirit so that we are prepared whenever the time comes.
Some may think it to be too general to take heed to, but those who understand the value of a spirit led leader knows that not taking the proper heed is sure to lead to regrets. Take it from someone who knows. I don’t believe that this Word was just for those that were in attendance. We go to church to get the Word and to live it out in our lives. We are taught to share what we learned and lead others to a stronger relationship with God. So this Word is just as much for me as it is for you. Someone reading this needed to hear that Word and whoever they are, I’d love to hear from them!
We all know that these are uncertain times. The world can be a scary place and many people live out their days in fear of the unknown. BUT GOD! When you understand the covering that God has over His believers you won’t succumb to that fear. I’m not saying that fear won’t try to creep in but if you get this Word in your heart you’ll have a defense against it.
One way that I confirm God’s Word is by paying attention to what occurs after His Word is shared. That same night I got a call from a close friend/sister that I haven’t spoken to in a while. We were catching up on each others lives, career goals, love lives, etc. She began sharing with me her vision for the future. She mentioned her dream of being a motivational speaker, traveling the world to encourage people to live life fearlessly. She wants to address the issue of fear and how so many people miss there call in life out of fear… fear of rejection, fear of failure. What was most profound was when she said that the people who push through the fear, look back after having accomplished there goal only to see that there wasn’t anything to fear after all. It was late, I was tired, and I didn’t want to get into a long spiritual conversation but I thought to myself “WOW God… I hear you loud and clear!”
I share all this to encourage you to take heed to the Word I shared. Meditate on it so that when those dark days appear you will have a defense against those evil reports, evil thoughts, and evil actions that come up against you. I’ll leave you with something profound that my pastor said during his message Sunday.
“It’s far easier to build shelter before storm hits, then in the midst of it.” Build up your knowledge of who God is to you and how much He loves you so that when the storm appears you can rest in the comfort of knowing that you are protected.
