My Set Place

It’s a new year for the BOLD & the FABULOUS!!! On Saturday, July 23rd we celebrated our 1 Year Anniversary and it was a HUGE success! I give God all the praise for bringing us together for this vision and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for us in the year to come. As mentioned in my previous post, I’m challenging myself to be bigger and BOLDER in the coming year. We talk about this faith walk and we encourage you to go after your dreams with no regard to the nay sayers but it’s time to show and prove.

Let me preface this by saying that I am so uncomfortable with this transition for one simple reason. One reason is my love of privacy. My years of experience in this world has shown me that not everyone can handle your dreams. Not everyone has a mind that’s wide enough to comprehend all that God has called you to do. Sometimes we don’t even have the capacity to take it all in ourselves. I know that there are people who read my blog who do not have my best interest at heart. Those that want to see me fail. There are those that have no words for me in person but are so engrossed in what I’m doing that they read my blog out of pure nosiness and that alone makes me want to keep my writing as generic as possible. BUT I can’t concern myself with those people. My concern is fulfilling the purpose and plan that God predestined for me and no one, and I mean NO ONE stands in the way of that!

 Now let’s be clear, I’m using wisdom! God’s instructions were clear so I’m just following what I hear. I’m not revealing my entire life’s journey for the world to read but I’m willing to let you in on one aspect of this journey… my dream of building my own producing firm one project at a time. This is a BIG dream. It’s a dream that in many cases seems like a HUGE mountain to climb. Each time I think of all the challenges and potential setbacks, I’m reminded that I’m not built to climb mountains. I’m empowered to speak to them. Any trial or situation that looks like a mountain in my life can be moved by the power of my tongue.

So here’s the plan… I will continue my blog by replicating the style used in the movie “Julie & Julia.” If you haven’t seen it yet, please do! In short, there is a woman named Julie approaching her thirties in a dead-end job and contemplating her next steps in life. Her love for cooking inspires her to create a blog which documents the 365 days it takes her to recreate all of Julia Child’s recipes. We’ll I’m not big on cooking so I decided to take the same concept and use my notes from my Pastor’s lessons dating back to 2007 to guide me on the journey to finding my set place. God has already given use all of the resources to fulfill all that He has planned for us. We often mismanage those resources and I for sure fall into this category. So much revelation knowledge is stored away in that journal that I’m allowing to collect dust as I continue to seek out answers. What if the answers are stored away in the pages I’ve neglected for years? I believe that revisiting the lessons from years past will surely bring revelation of what I need to do to get on track to fulfilling my dream. I have no guarantees but this is where faith comes in. It’s only when you are in your set place that you can truly reap the blessings God has for you so here goes!!
