Today marks the beginning of my journals that will document my quest to find my set place. Follow me on this journey as I seek out the wisdom of God from lessons past to guide me on the journey of self discovery and purpose. I vow to openly and honestly share my thoughts and insights as I study each lesson and find direction. Living this journey out loud gives me the accountability I need to stay committed to this process while hopefully impacting lives across the globe.  Acts 17:11

“Now these were better disposed and more noble than those in Thessalonica, for they were entirely ready and accepted and welcomed the message with inclination of mind and eagerness, searching and examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.”

Hebrews 2:6-18 (Amplified)

If you ever wanted to understand or need a refresher as to who Jesus is to us as believers, Heb. 2:6-18 are the verses to study. It puts into perspective the connection we have to Him and the power that He has given us. We need to see ourselves as Christ sees us.  These scriptures will surely bring that to light.

I chose to highlight the portion that spoke to me the most. Check out Hebrews 2:7-9…

“For some little time, You have ranked him [man] lower than and inferior to the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor and set him over the works of Your hands. For You have put everything in subjection under his feet. Now in putting everything in subjection to man, He left nothing outside [of man’s] control. But at present we do not yet see all things subjected to him [man]. But we are able to see Jesus, Who was ranked lower than the angels for a little while, crowned with glory and honor because of His having suffered death, in order that by the grace (unmerited favor) of God He might experience death for every individual person.”

Can I just say that God is awesome?! Do you see the similarity here between Jesus Christ and man??!! Do you understand the power God has given us? We are lesser to only the angels. That means we have dominion over everything else in the earth!! (Beyonce track “Who Runs the World…[BELIEVERS]” goes right here!) 

On the ride home from work today, I popped in the CD from Pastor Kelli Oldham’s lesson, “Can You Hear Me Now?” She spoke about having an ear for God’s voice and the only time that you can be confident in knowing that God is speaking is if you spend time with Him. Our prayer life is essential to our success in life. Just like our ears are in tune to hear the voice of our mothers in a crowd of people, so should our hearing be when God is speaking through the noise that is our own thoughts, insecurities, and opinions.

As you can see, four years ago, my pastor spoke about getting a hold of the Word and studying it so that it doesn’t slip. Today I heard a Word about spending time with God to get acquainted with His voice and look at me now!! I heard from God to take a new direction with my blog that would require me to revisit lessons from my past so that I can learn the direction of my future. I hope this is proof that God knows what he’s doing and is constantly aligning us to experience His best in life. I truly hope that this encourages someone today but if that someone is only me than praise God for that too! We got to encourage ourselves sometimes!

Lesson for today: Forget about the days in the past where you may have missed it!! Focus on studying the Word, spending time with God to learn His voice so that you are confident in your walk and can take the authority in the earth that God has already given you.
