Refueled

“Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.” Proverbs 19:21

In December 2012, the plan was to dissolve “The BOLD & The FABULOUS” blog, which for me meant my blogging run was over. I wasn’t upset about it at all. Although I loved it, I knew that everything had its season and that we had a great run while it lasted. Now it was on to other things. Little did I know that my involvement with “The BOLD & The FABULOUS” was preparation for me to come from behind the scenes to find my voice and build enough confidence to share it with the world. If you look back to my very first blog in July 2010, you will read all about my hesitations. I won’t drill down on that any more than necessary, but just know that it was not my desire to share my stories with the world. However, as my relationship with God grew, my desires began to take a backseat and it became more important for me to fulfill His purpose for my life. Continue reading “Refueled”

Declaring War!!

Pastor Dwayne Freeman, Assistant Pastor at my church, puts it best when he says “It’s not what you think you are that holds you back, it’s what you think you are  not!” …If that ain’tthe truth!Well, I don’t know about you but I fight thoughts of intimidation and defeatEVERY DAY!! Every attack set up against me, I’ve fought face on. I’m not a coward. I’m not weak. I have on the full armor of God that protects me even when I’m being beat to a pulp. I’ve had some things transpire over the past few months that could have sent me over! Real talk! The natural part of me was near defeat, but the spiritual part of me had my back. When all my strength seemed to be gone, I prayed in the spirit and bounced back with even more vengeance and more determination to protect myself and most importantly my sanity! God & Cars

Have you ever had God speak life into you with the most basic analogies? I mean things that are so simple, but yet so complex to the point that you just KNOW it had to be God’s voice. I wasn’t even thinking about anything at the time really. I was on my way to work about to pull into a parking space and God wanted to chat. I know some of this appears spooky to those that may not have a relationship with God to the point where he interrupts your day but just follow me for a minute.  Continue reading “God & Cars”

YOU’RE AMAZING PT.1: “BOTTLE IT UP”

Over the next few weeks, I’m going to attempt to bring you along the journey I had with over 400 other women in a remote town of Maryland for this year’s  “You’re Amazing” Women’s Advance/Retreat. God’s presence was so overwhelming in that atmosphere that you couldn’t help but leave there refreshed, renewed, and empowered to take your walk to another level. We were there for three days enjoying speakers, an anointed praise team, social activities, and simply being away from the mundane routine that so many of us fall into on a daily basis. ANGEL: SPECIAL DELIVERY

Do you believe in angels? No, not the ones on TV with halos, in all white, and big broad wings. I’m talking about everyday, average looking people who come into your life and breathe new life into you…if only for a moment. They introduce you to new experiences, new ways of thinking, building you up and telling you what you NEED to hear, not what you want to hear. You know, that person who when they speak to you, you feel that God is using them as a connector. It’s not that He won’t speak to us directly, but many of us haven’t matured enough in our hearing to distinguish His voice… so God will use His people to do the job. It’s funny because often when He does speak to us, we refer to Him as “something.” You know you’ve said it, “something told me to walk away”… or “something told me that was a set up.”

Beyond Your Heart

You ever wonder why the desires of the world seem so much more desirable? I mean really, why is it so difficult for us to accept all that comes with living a Christian lifestyle? It seems like the moment you make the decision to change just one small aspect of your life, your mind gets flooded with all of the things you think you will miss out on if you truly carry out that decision. It can be so frustrating when you set out to do anything in life and seemingly fail. I mean, letting yourself and your family down is disappointing enough, but when you think about the possibility of letting God down…that’s a whole different level. So what do many of us do?… We shy away from the thought of doing what we feel we can’t for fear of failing God. There’s a certain confidence that we have in ourselves that we know we’ll eventually bounce back from our own disappointment. There’s another level of confidence we have in our family because we know that their disappointment will only last for a moment and they will always have our backs. So how can we develop that same confidence in God? Continue reading “Beyond Your Heart”
